In this paper I will describe how the workers’ compensation claims process works, also describe overall the workers’ compensation claims process, responsibilities of the employee, employer, physician, and insurance carrier. This paper will also explain how the HIPAA Privacy Rules apply to workers’ compensation, and what the implication of unrestricted access to patient’s medical records.
